Holland Tour 2006
For the second year in succession we entered the Tunis Cup in Holland. We took 3 teams, the U15s, 16s and 17s, but because of the way age groups work on the continent, all the teams had to play in an age group higher than normal. In total we took 55 players and responsible adults.
The facilities were outstanding and the football both fantastic and of a very high quality. The U15s finished second in their group on Day 1, and as a result, were involved in the play-off for 5th to 8th place on the second day. They finally finished 8th out of 32. The U16s lost all their games on the first day but followed this up with 3 victories on the second, finally finishing 16th. The U17s, over the course of the 2 days, won two games and lost two, finishing 12th.
The tour was a complete success. The players and (responsible) adults all had a great time both on and off the pitch but as the old saying goes, what goes on tour, stays on tour.
I would like to make special mention of the various security guards at the camp where we stayed, but on second thoughts, wont. Anyone who went will know what I mean, ask them!
